The Doctors are certified in multiple different soft tissue techniques. We utilize these soft tissue techniques in addition to the Chiropractic adjustments in order to maximize progress.
Soft tissue mobilization techniques are utilized to decrease muscle tension, improve range of motion, and decrease pain and inflammation. Although these techniques provide results when standalone, they work best when combined with Chiropractic adjustments as well as Rehabilitative Exercises.
IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization). IASTM is a type of soft tissue mobilization is performed with an ergonomically designed instrument that detects and treats fascial restrictions, encourages rapid localization of blood flow and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue adhesions, and inflammation. It is used to bring blood flow to the area and promote healing as well as decreasing muscle tension.
Graston technique.Graston is a type of IASTM technique. The doctors use stainless steel instruments to comb over and “catch” fibrotic tissue which identifies area of tissue restriction. The instrument breaks up scar tissue so it can be absorbed by the body instead of restricting movement and muscle function.
Active Release Technique. A pin and stretch method to releasing muscle tension. It involves bringing the muscle into it a shortened state and then applying pressure to the muscle and elongating the muscle in order to get the most release from the muscle to decrease tension and tightness.
